" As the G Lock pads kept wearing and becoming more "intimate" with the rotor, they were much better. Front stretch braking between the 3&4 was too soon but I'm pretty conservative. I could have easily started at the 3 marker and had room to spare. After almost 300 miles and a string of 2:11s, I finally put together a 2:10.5 with a virtual best of 2:09.4. G-LOC compounds to work extremely well with carbon-ceramic rotors/discs. We have selected R10 for the front and R8 for the rear.
Front Pads -- The R10 has a much stronger initial bite and higher coefficient of friction than R8. R10 still maintains our smooth release, excellent modulation and rotor friendliness that have been engineered into all previous G-LOC™ compounds. The R10 compound disc/rotor friendliness will lead the industry. R10™ broad temperature range and fade resistance is in excess of 1475°F (186°F /85°C – 801°C). G-LOC™ does NOT recommended R10 for daily use on the street due to elevated levels of dust and noise.
Rear Pads -- R8 is a high torque brake compound with a wide operating temperature range of 200°F-1250°F+ (93°C to 676°C+). G-LOC™ R8 is the first of our extensive lineup of racing compounds. Good initial bite along with excellent modulation and release characteristics, extremely high fade resistance and very rotor friendly. Perfect for track day use with any tire and can still be driven safely to and from the track. G-LOC™ does NOT recommend R8 for daily use on the street due to elevated levels of dust and noise. G-LOC™ R8 is a popular compound for open wheel type of race cars. R8 is also used on most Formula SAE team cars, along with shifter karts, dirt bikes, ATV’s, and even Mountain bikes.
